The Georgia Victim Legal Assistance Network is a partnership between:

  • the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, Inc;
  • the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation;
  • Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network, and;
  • Georgia Legal Service Program.

Partners work together to provide quality civil  legal services to victims of crime across Georgia.

VLAN attorneys provide legal representation in Protective Orders, Divorces, Custody, Housing, Education, Healthcare, Benefits, and Immigration cases.  VLAN Navigators also assist with supportive services such as assistance with:

  • public benefits applications,
  • victim’s compensation,
  • emergency housing assistance programs,
  • referrals to social service organizations,
  • referrals for medical/mental health services, and
  • other supportive services.

Atlanta Legal Aid Society (ALAS) provides free civil legal services in Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett counties to help clients access some of life’s most basic needs- a safe home, enough money to eat, a decent education, personal safety and protection against fraud and abuse. Atlanta Legal Aid provides free civil legal assistance to low-income metro Atlanta area residents who would otherwise be unable to obtain quality legal help. Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (AVLF) is Atlanta’s largest provider of pro-bono legal services. We serve low-income tenants as well as survivors of intimate partner abuse. In partnership with Partnership Against Domestic Violence, AVLF operates the Safe Families Office in the Fulton County Superior Courthouse. The Safe Families Office provides consultation services for survivors to get information about their legal options and referrals for other appropriate assistance. Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network (GAIN) provides free immigration legal services for victims of crime and persecution, including asylum seekers and immigrant victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual assault. Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP)  provides free civil legal services in 154 counties outside metro Atlanta.
